Working through worker-management issues during COVID-19

Tom Karst, the Editor-in-Chief for The Packer, discusses the importance of the relationship between farm management and workers specifically during the response to the COVID-19 pandemic with Vic Smith and Peter O’Driscoll.

Vic Smith is an EFI board member and CEO of JV Smith Companies and advocates for training and workforce development like the programs offered by Equitable Food Initiative. Peter O’Driscoll serves as EFI’s Executive Director. During the interview, they address the economic impact of the pandemic as well as EFI-certified farms ability to quickly respond and mobilize due to the training and communication networks that have been put in place.
