Stemilt has hit an impressive industry milestone, recently achieving the Equitable Food Initiative (EFI) certification at its Quincy, Washington, orchard operation. “Being EFI-certified allows us to provide retailers and consumers transparency that our World Famous Fruit is responsibly grown and farmworker assured,” the company mentioned on a digital statement.
Back in 2019, Stemilt completed a successful EFI pilot. Now, its goal is to work with EFI and further bolster its operations by training and developing cross-functional leadership teams. “We simply wouldn’t exist without these always essential workers. They nurture our fruit from first bloom to last pick and help us delight consumers with World Famous Fruit. We are currently obtaining our EFI certification across our organization. This in order to support EFI’s work here at Stemilt”.
