September was a busy month for workers in Rouge River Farms in Verona, Virginia, because of the celebration of the third annual “Feria de EFI”. The fair is a four-day event dedicated to explaining the benefits, significance, and standards of the EFI certification for their full workforce.
The idea for this event came from Estefani Oceja, a Food Safety worker and EFI Leadership Team member at Rouge River Farms. Her goal was to foster a space where both learning and team-building could flourish. Following her idea, all employees have the chance to take part in interactive sessions, presentations, and brainstorming spaces. In addition to informative presentations led by the Leadership Teams, the organizers offered plenty of fun activities, from friendly competitions to brainstorming sessions that encouraged everyone’s participation.
These activities weren’t just about having fun— they were designed to improve Rouge River Farms’ workplace environment and generate new ideas for continuous improvement. The different teams came together and shared insights, learnings and experiences, and discussed ways to keep moving forward and making a difference in the agricultural industry.
For a third year, the fair was a resounding success. Employees provided positive feedback on the fair, demonstrating that such meetings are essential for maintaining a motivated, engaged and dedicated workforce committed to upholding high-quality standards. Congratulations Estefani Oceja, the Leadership Team and Rouge River Farms for another successful year.
