Equitable Food Initiative (EFI) partnered with Sustainable Food Group to develop a methodology for measuring pesticide risks on certified farms.
Farming operations will use this structure to measure the impact of pesticide-related risks. In addition, farms need to implement integrated pest management practices to reduce pesticide use. After that, growers use the Pesticide Risk Tool to assess the threats associated with their farm’s pest control usage.
The EFI Certification leads to a more collaborative and respectful work environment. More than 29,000 workers are employed on farms with EFI-trained Leadership Teams. That means that workers are engaged to improve working conditions and follow pest management standards.
