The labor stewardship and management requirements in the standard are strong and comprehensive. At the top of the long list of obligations is the establishment of an EFI-trained leadership team. Its members must represent management and all the workers, including those hired or supervised by labor contractors or other intermediaries. The team’s job is to oversee implementation of the EFI standard and institute remedies if problems arise.
