EFI Website Offers New Resources for Growers

Responsible Recruitment, HR Metrics Tool and More

As Equitable Food Initiative (EFI) works to modernize and introduce lean management systems in agriculture, we have identified opportunities for growers to better assess and plan for continuous improvement in their operations.

EFI is sharing important tools for tracking key performance indicators, avoiding pitfalls associated with pay-to-play recruitment models, and more, on a new section of its website. A variety of resources for growers-shippers can be found under the Growers menu tab on the EFI website. A login is required for access.

Many resources are free and available to everyone in the industry. Simply register for a free account at equitablefood.org.

Once growers register for an account, they will be able to access the following free resources:

  • Responsible Recruitment Scorecard – a questionnaire designed to identify vulnerabilities in the foreign recruitment processes or with farm labor contractors. Completion of the spreadsheet provides a rating indicator and areas to address to ensure a responsible recruitment process throughout the labor supply chain.
  • HR Metrics Tool – an interactive spreadsheet that will give you key performance indicators such as retention, productivity and hiring costs based on the information entered by the user. A completed spreadsheet can also be sent to EFI for a confidential benchmarking report of how the organization compares to the EFI average.

Growers who are active in the EFI Program will also have access to the following resources:

  • Grower’s Manual – information, templates and resources meant to help a farming operation obtain and maintain EFI certification.
  • Pesticide Risk Tool – learn more about the tool that helps satisfy EFI’s Standard PM 1.3.

Once a free account is set up, individuals from companies active in the EFI Program will be verified and given access to the additional resources.

Please send questions or suggestions about these new tools and resources to EFI staff.
