EFI Certification Recognized as a Benchmarked Program with ECIP

The Equitable Food Initiative (EFI) Certification Program brings together growers, retailers and farmworkers to build the necessary skills that promote a culture of continuous improvement. By obtaining EFI Certification, growers gain increased assurance that their workforce is equipped with the skills and support needed to thrive in a competitive global marketplace.

In addition to the assurance and the culture of continuous improvement, by adhering to the EFI’s certification social standards, the culture of food safety addendum, IPM standards (an optional add on) and the ethical charter addendum, growers demonstrate their commitment to field-level social responsibility.

This commitment was recognized by The Sustainability Consortium, which benchmarked and approved EFI Certification as one of the 16 ECIP-recognized programs demonstrating alignment with the Ethical Charter on Responsible Labor Practices.

Growers certified through EFI with the Ethical Charter Addendum earn a gold star – the highest engagement star – and free access to the ECIP Grower LAB platform for as long as their certification remains valid. This incentivizes participation in ECIP LAB and recognizes the significant investments they have already made in achieving and maintaining EFI certification.
