The monthly publication highlighted the Equitable Food Initiative’s (EFI) certification program and rigorous agricultural standards. In the cover story “Fairness in Farming” they took an in-depth look at our mission to improve working conditions for agricultural workers, provide healthier fresh produce, and reduce exposure to pesticides among farmworkers and their families.
From the consumers’ perspective, the EFI certification on fruits and vegetables signifies that the workers harvesting the produce have been treated respectfully and compensated fairly. Growers are assured that the workforce has been given the skills and support to address critical issues. Among these are food safety and traceability so they can excel in a global marketplace.
