Announcing EFI’s 2015 Annual Report

2015 was an exciting year for Equitable Food Initiative! We kicked off the year successfully incorporating as a 501(c)3 organization and significantly expanded our outreach to the produce industry in the following months. Our 2015 Annual Report covers our first year of independent operation and highlights our work with farmworkers, growers and retailers to build a safer, more sustainable produce industry. Some key highlights include:

  • 7,291 farmworkers working on EFI-trained farms
  • Negotiations with 10 major retail and food services companies on how they can get involved
  • Press and social media outreach touching over 158 million readers

We are proud of the strides we made in 2015 and grateful to all of our generous supporters for making this work possible. We have big plans for the coming years! You’ll see EFI engaging more retailers and the farms they source from, increasing the number of workers impacted by our certification and getting our “Responsibly Grown. Farmworker Assured.™” label out on supermarket shelves. We hope you’ll join us on the way!
