Illustration Contest: Showcasing the Creative Talents of Farmworkers

EFI is offering an exciting opportunity for farmworkers to showcase their artistic talents while contributing to a new version of the EFI Leadership Team Training Manual. This contest invites front-line farmworkers and supervisors who work on an EFI-certified farm, have received EFI training (for certification, ERGO, FLC), or served on an EFI worker-manager collaborative team in the Americas.

Why Participate?

During trainings led by EFI, we have seen some remarkable artistic creations from talented workers in the industry. This contest gives them the space to celebrate their creativity and unique perspectives. In addition, it gives them a platform to shape a visually engaging and meaningful training resource for EFI.

What We’re Looking For

Artists are encouraged to interpret key themes creatively, focusing on:

  • Bridges or symbolic connections between diverse groups, highlighting the role of the Leadership Team in uniting farmworkers and management; and  the role of effective communication in building trust and connecting ideas.
  • Scenes of teamwork, engagement and productive meetings, where team members from different roles and backgrounds come together in open dialogue; symbolizing active listening and the willingness to understand different perspectives.
  • Growth and progress, symbolizing the Leadership Team’s commitment to constant improvement.
  • Scenes of peer-to-peer learning or mentorship, showing Leadership Team members sharing knowledge with coworkers in a supportive, approachable setting.
  • Workers across different roles—such as harvesters, tractor drivers, quality control staff, and packing line workers—collaborating to address real issues on the field or in the packing house.
  • Scenes showing teamwork in practical settings, such as a group of workers examining a crop for quality control, addressing maintenance issues, or discussing logistics in a bustling packing line, illustrating the real-world application of problem-solving.
