Beginning in 2024, EFI is pleased to present a range of learning and training opportunities for individuals and farming operations to better understand and apply key social responsibility concepts.
Webinars, seminars and courses are designed to align to the Ethical Charter on Responsible Labor Practices and provide introductory knowledge and skills to pursue EFI Certification. Seminars are offered as introductions to topics and workshops and courses dive deeper to build applicable knowledge and skills for managers, supervisors and workers.
Registering multiple attendees from a single farming operation creates shared knowledge to begin to implement key social responsibility initiatives.
Training topics will include:
- improving communication and worker protections
- creating a culture and systems to prevent harassment and discrimination across the operation
- developing management systems that support social responsibility
- introducing and embracing continuous improvement
- sustainability and solving for retailer requirements
- worker health and safety

October 2 – How to Talk to Your Customers About ECIP
Join us for a one-hour webinar on leveraging the Ethical Charter Implementation Program (ECIP) within your Sales and Marketing teams. Learn what your customers expect to see from ECIP, how to use your engagement score as a key talking point in sales conversations and hear from the ECIP Marketing team about the tools and resources available to ECIP users.

September 12 – Tools to Building a Highly Engaged Workforce
Join Lulu Rivera, EFI’s training manager for a webinar that will cover tools for collaboration, safety, continuous improvement and communication. Though our time together will be short, there will be key takeaways and opportunities to dive deeper into further learning.

Join to learn about the Ethical Charter Implementation Program (ECIP), how to use the platform as a grower and how to respond to the self-assessment questionnaire. Featuring guest speakers, a platform demo and overview, as well as audience Q&A. This session will be held in Spanish.

November 12, 14, 19, 21, 2024 – Facilitation 101: Training and Development – Bilingual
This course builds facilitation skills to engage adult learners and create interactive, inclusive learning environments. Participants will practice various techniques, receive feedback and build a toolkit of strategies to enhance their facilitation skills and involvement of adult learners.
December 3, 5, and 10, 2024 – Facilitation 102: Techniques and Tools for EFI Certification
This course prepares individuals to become certified EFI Internal Trainers by covering the EFI curriculum, leadership training and essential trainer responsibilities. Participants will develop key skills in communication, conflict resolution and teamwork. Facilitation 101: Training and Development is a prerequisite for those who have not attended an EFI Leadership Team training.
2024 Fall Seminar Series
One-hour, live, instructor-led learning sessions equip participants with essential skills and knowledge to implement principles from the Ethical Charter on Responsible Labor Practices and to pursue or support EFI Certification.

EFI Leadership Team Training for EFI Certification
Farming operations seeking to earn EFI Certification will need to form and train an EFI Leadership Team. Leadership Team training is available in-person, hybrid or remote. Learn more about creating and training an EFI Leadership Team as part of the EFI Certification process.
